2nd June - SINGING: IT'S A BLOKE THING! We've had the Military Wives' Choir, now make way for the men! It is well known that singing together makes men more attractive, is the key to a long life and improves their sense of humour. So what's not to like? Chris Rowbury is calling on men throughout the region to join him for a fun day of harmony singing in Melton, Woodbridge. Chris is a dynamic and inspiring workshop leader who wants to introduce more men to the joys of singing together. This is a chance to be part of a group that will create a rich and vibrant sound which will have the hairs standing up on the back of your neck. Chris will lead a Men's Harmony Singing Day in Melton. It will be held at the Burness Parish Room, 38 The Street, Melton, Woodbridge IP12 1PW from 10:30am to 4:30pm and costs just £20 in advance (£25 on the door). Bring lunch to share. For more information contact Chris on (01394) 610 486, email chris@chrisrowbury.com or check out his website: www.chrisrowbury.com. All men are welcome whether you sing in a choir, or think you can't "sing", but would love to try. No experience is necessary as all songs are taught by ear. This is a unique opportunity to spend a fun and relaxing day learning traditional songs from cultures where men sing together as naturally as walking or talking. These are magnificent, rough-round-the-edges songs from folk traditions across the globe, not the slick close harmony of barbershop. You'll be singing lusty songs from South Africa, gutsy British sea shanties, gentle harmonies from Eastern Europe and much more. All arranged especially for voice only. "I'm surprised more men don't sing as singing has proven health benefits, acts as a stress-buster after a long day's work, and definitely feeds the soul." says Chris. So come and flex those vocal cords, be part of a supportive group, have fun and a bit of a laugh, find your natural voice, discover new songs from other cultures, feel the joy of creating beautiful music, make some new mates. Chris has over 25 years experience as a workshop lead! er and has worked all over the world as a teacher, director and performer. As well as leading The OK Chorale in Woodbridge, he regularly runs singing workshops across the UK. Chris's approach to singing is informal and empowering, enabling people to find their own singing voice using large doses of humour. For more information, contact Chris on (01394) 610 486 or email chris@chrisrowbury.com More details on his website: www.chrisrowbury.com
